Rescue crews are searching for a missing man in Anderson Lake, north of Whistler.
The 26-year-old man Surrey man went missing Friday after jumping off a 50-metre cliff into the water below.
"[He] entered the water and did not resurface," said RCMP Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair.
"Several of his companions jumped in to look for him and after about 10 minutes of diving they were unable to locate him."
LeClair says the man has cliff-jumped before, but never in this area.
A police helicopter and Pemberton Search and Rescue scoured the area through the night Friday and for much of the day Saturday, but have found no trace of the man.
"Our thoughts are with the family of the missing man during this difficult time," LeClair said.
"We certainly hope that we will be able to locate him however the water in this area of the lake is extremely deep."
The RCMP dive team will start looking for the man’s body Sunday morning.
