Hundreds of thousands of people packed into English Bay and Kits Point Saturday night to enjoy the final night of the Celebration of Light fireworks show.
The Vancouver Police Department sent hundreds of officers out to deter alcohol-fuelled disturbances and ensure public safety.
Police encountered several minor issues — including 477 liquor pour-outs, seven weapons seizures and five arrests for public intoxication — but there were no significant problems.
Police say the "extremely large crowd was mostly well behaved."
The winner of this year’s fireworks competition between Vietnam, Brazil and Italy will be announced on Monday.
