A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a Seattle man who failed to appear in court on charges related to the Stanley Cup riot.

Vancouver police say Jensen Peter White was supposed to appear in court on May 7.

The 21-year-old was charged last year with participating in a riot and mischief. Police allege White helped flip a car parked in the 300 block of West Georgia Street.

Const. Brian Montague says police believe White is back home in Seattle and have spoken to police there.

"If he ever returns to Canada, he is immediately arrestable," Montague said.

"That warrant is indefinite, there is no expiry on it. We confirmed an address for Mr. White and we are speaking with the Seattle Police Department but ... the warrant is Canada-wide and has no authority in the United States."

White was attending university in Canada at the time of the riot.

He is described as a white man, about six feet tall and weighing around 155 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

"It is futile to hide," said Insp. Laurence Rankin, team commander of the Integrated Riot Investigation Team. "I encourage Mr. White to do the right thing and contact investigators to make arrangements to turn himself in."

On Tuesday, rioter Robert Snelgrove was sentenced to house arrest after pleading guilty to looting makeup for the downtown Vancouver Sears store during the June 2011 riot. He was the third rioter to be sentenced.
