Youth charged in teen's slaying in B.C Interior

A 17-year-old youth has been charged in the homicide of a teenage girl in northeast B.C. last year. The body of Chassidy Charlie, also 17, was found by her mother in the family's home in Burns Lake on January 26, 2011.
Investigators conducted an exhaustive investigation which has led to a charge of second-degree murder against the male suspect, RCMP Cpl. John Grierson said Wednesday.
Grierson said the youth knew Charlie and is also a resident of the Burns Lake area, but police won't release his name because of his age.
Police have not said how Charlie was killed, but the victim's mother said her daughter's face had been burned.
