A 31-year-old Vancouver man is facing murder charges after his ex-wife was shot and killed Tuesday.
Jenny Lee Wong, 30, was killed in a basement suite in the 3400 block of East Georgia Street at about 6 p.m. PT.
Her ex-husband, whose name has not been released, is in police custody. Police say he is facing murder, attempted murder and firearms-related charges.
Police say the woman was with a male companion in the suite, who was grazed by a bullet in the shooting.
Her two children, a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl, were also in the home at the time. Wong's extended family, which includes three other children, were also in the suite.
Police say Wong's sister and brother-in-law burst into the suite when they heard the shooting, wrestled the gun away from the suspect and held him until police could arrive.
Police say Wong's ex-husband is known to them but not for domestic-related violence.
