A spilled beer at a rock concert appears to have led to a man being beaten to death at a Dawson Creek, B.C., rock concert, police say.
Five men were involved in a fight after an argument over the spilled drink quickly escalated Tuesday night, said Const. Lesley Smith.
“I would say the three males were influenced by alcohol and this assault went too far. The two victims tried to walk away but the three suspects assaulted them, but that assault took place in the men's washroom," said Smith.
Smith said a 28-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in a Dawson Creek hospital.
The second victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police located three suspects at a bar and took them into custody after the concert, which had featured the Canadian band, Hedley.
Smith said all the men allegedly involved are from Fort St. John, and are not known to police.
No charges have been laid.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dawson Creek RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
