Six men are facing charges for an alleged kidnapping attempt that was broken up by police in East Vancouver in November, the RCMP revealed on Tuesday.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit had some of the men under surveillance when the officers spotted two of them allegedly bundling a man into a van and tying him up.

Police interrupted soon after and freed the victim, but the investigation continued and eventually led to the charges of kidnapping against six men between the ages of 25 and 28.

Officers also seized 11 guns in the incident and say other charges could follow. They say they suspect the men have links to the Independent Soldiers gang.
