A B.C. RCMP officer and his wife have been reunited with the young girl who they rescued from a car that had overturned in a water-filled ditch Friday.

Const. Aaron Jabs and his wife, Cherrie Jabs, were passing by in Delta, B.C., just after Alyce McDonald drove her car off the road, which had flipped into a ditch.

McDonald and her son Jordan, 6, managed to get out of the vehicle, but two-year-old daughter Haylee was trapped in her car seat.

The five people who had met under such dire circumstances Friday got together under much happier and calmer conditions Monday.

The CBC’s Deborah Goble was there.
