A B.C. woman who said she felt like doctors had sent her home to die because she was an adult with chronic anorexia is thriving at an Edmonton clinic.

“It's like night and day,” said Amber Foster. “I feel like I could run a marathon right now. I’m really happy.”

Foster has gained 18 pounds since she arrived at the clinic Dec. 6, when she weighed just 76 pounds.

After weeks of getting to choose her own meals and continual counselling, the 30-year-old was still 17 pounds under weight.

But CBC News has learned that Foster has received a discouraging diagnosis.
