An 18 year-old Kamloops man is being held after his father was found dying at their house, police said Monday.
Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush said police were called to a home on Collingwood Drive at around 4:30 p.m. PT.
As they arrived, an 18 year-old was attempting to flee on foot.
Police detained him and when they entered the house, they discovered his 63-year-old father in poor condition. The father was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Police have not released the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing and the 18-year-old has not yet been charged.
Kamloops is approximately 350 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.
