Accused cancer fraudster repeating crimes, say police

Douglas Archie Clark, 64, of Burnaby, faces more possible charges for allegedly defrauding people by faking cancer. RCMPA 64-year-old B.C. man who already faces 13 counts of fraud has been arrested again as police allege he has continued to masquerade as an army vet suffering from cancer.
The accused, Douglas Archie Clark, occasionally wears a military uniform as he pretends to need money for cancer treatments not covered by his medical plan, according to Cpl. Alanna Dunlop, of the Ridge Meadows RCMP.
"There was in excess of 900 thousand dollars given to him by 40 different victims," Dunlop said.
Clark was arrested in June and released with conditions pending a court date in July.
But he did not show up for the July Appearance and was re-arrested Thursday in Vancouver amid new fraud complaints.
"What we're hearing now from the [alleged] victims is that his activities did continue and we are anticipating there will be more charges," said Dunlop. Clark was released again pending another scheduled court appearance Monday.
