Man dies after shooting girl in Surrey

A wounded 13-year-old is in stable condition and the man who attacked her is dead after a shooting and fire in Surrey, B.C.
Police say the girl was found on the steps of Woodland Elementary School in the 9000-block of 158th Street at about 11:30 a.m. PT after she had been shot in the back.
A short time later, a fire was reported about two blocks away from where the girl was found.
After the fire was put out, RCMP emergency response team battered down the door of the residence and found a male in his 30s seriously injured.
Police did not reveal the nature of his injuries.
Anna Nguyen was found with a gunshot wound two blocks from her Surrey home Friday. (Facebook)Both victims were transported to hospital, where the alleged shooter died. It's not certain yet if the male also set the fire in the house.
Police said the girl, Anna Nguyen, had fled the residence after she was shot.
Her relationship to the dead man is not known, but he was said to have been a boarder who lived in the basement of the Nguyen family home.
