Rockslide closes Trans-Canada at Hope, B.C.

The slide has closed 62 kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway until about 10 a.m. PT Saturday at the earliest. (CBC)The Trans-Canada Highway has been closed in both directions in the Fraser Canyon following a rockslide.
The closure extends from Avalanche Gate in Hope to Boston Bar, a distance of 62 kilometres, according to the DriveBC website.
The slide occurred one kilometre east of the Yale Tunnel.
A detour has been set up via Highway 5.
DriveBC said the estimated time of opening is 10 a.m. PT on Saturday, but added that the opening could be delayed beyond that time.
