An 18-year-old pedestrian died Monday night after being hit by a marked RCMP cruiser in Surrey.
Mounties said the cruiser, driven by the member, hit the teenager as she crossed King George Boulevard near 98 Avenue.
The accident happened near the King George SkyTrain Station.
Police said the victim was not in the crosswalk when she was struck.
The RCMP officer driving the cruiser wasn't hurt.
The investigation has been taken over by Abbotsford Police, which has supplied a team of investigators and collision re-constructionists.
The RCMP member involved in the collision has approximately two years experience.
