A Vancouver-originated video of one kitten "massaging" another has gone viral on the internet.
Posted June 30 by Mary MacNeil of Vancouver a 23-second video called Kitten Massage Therapy has had more than 750,000 viewings on YouTube.
"It's just funny to think that they've been seen all over the world," MacNeil told CBC News.
The number of viewers was likely boosted by the attention given the video on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September.
MacNeil said she was fostering the kittens, then called Chloe and Bugsy, for Vancouver's Orphan Kitten Rescue Association.
The video could have attracted money rather than just attention, MacNeil said.
A British broadcaster wanted to use the cats in a documentary about soccer star David Beckham, who is a proponent of therapeutic massage.
But the video rights already belonged to YouTube, said MacNeil.
The cats have since been adopted by another Lower Mainland woman.
A spokesperson for the Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association said the group desperately needs donations.
