Vancouver police have made five child pornography-related arrests in the past month, a spokesman says. (CBC)A tip about a man using a computer at a Robson Street internet café has led to an arrest, Vancouver police say.
The man was taken into custody at the Nicola Internet Café in the city's west end Tuesday, police spokesman Const. Lindsey Houghton said Thursday.
Peter Scott Wilson has been charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and two counts of importing or distributing child pornography.
Houghton said it was the fifth child pornography arrest in Vancouver within the past month.
"What we're seeing, I think, is more people becoming a lot more keenly aware that there are people in the community doing this," said Houghton. "So, we're receiving a lot more information and tips from people, which is great."
Wilson, 47, was arrested by the Vancouver police vice squad in 2005 for the same charges and was still on probation at the time of his arrest, Houghton said.
Wilson has been released from custody and will appear in court again on Oct. 13.
