Vancouver Police are asking for the public's assistance to help identify a person captured in SkyTrain surveillance video following an attempted sexual assault.

A man tried to drag a 19-year-old woman into bushes along a trail in the 3500 block of S.E. Marine Drive at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night.

A man passing by the area came to the aid of the woman and the attacker ran off.

Investigators want to speak to a man they describe only as "a person of interest," who is seen in surveillance video images at the 22nd Street SkyTrain station about 11:40 p.m. the same night.

The man is dressed in a blue shirt and jeans and is seen exiting the train onto the station platform.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the VPD Sex Crimes Unit at 604-717-2648 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
