Christopher Ingvaldson, a teacher at St. George's School in Vancouver, faces child pornography charges. (fieldhockey.ca)A teacher at Vancouver's exclusive St. George's School is facing four charges in relation to the possession and distribution of child pornography, police said late Friday.
Christopher Charles Ingvaldson, 40, of Vancouver was arrested Friday morning, following a two-week investigation by the Vancouver police vice unit, said Const. Jana McGuiness.
Search warrants were executed at Ingvaldson's home and at St. George's School.
The private school issued a release saying Ingvaldson had been relieved of his teaching duties.
The investigation began when the police received information that a teacher from the school was allegedly accessing child pornography through a social networking website, McGuinness said.
The website was allegedly accessed from both the suspect's home and place of work.
The investigation is continuing and no evidence has been uncovered to suggest that any students at the school or any other local children have been at risk, McGuinness said.
