Health officials have declared an end to a disease outbreak that killed 10 seniors at a care home in Victoria, B.C.

The Vancouver Island Health Authority says it's contained both a respiratory illness and a norovirus that appeared at Glengarry Hospital, which cares for extremely old and frail patients.

The unidentified respiratory outbreak was first declared on April 22, affecting 21 patients and killing 10 of them, ranging in age from 81 to 97.

No new cases of the illness have occurred since April 29, and the cause of the disease is still under investigation with tests being conducted at the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.
