A New Westminster, B.C., man has been charged in the slaying of a woman in Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver in 2009.

Alexander Lawrence La Glace, 45, is accused of second-degree murder in the death of Tammy Lynn Cordone, 43.

La Glace was arrested Tuesday in Vancouver and is being held in custody pending a first court appearance at North Vancouver provincial court on Wednesday.

The victim and the accused knew each other, said West Vancouver Const. Jeff Palmer.

Investigators said they believe Cordone, a mother of two, was living in the park when she was killed last May 19. Her body was found by a hiker in the Juniper Point area.

The cause of the woman's death has not been revealed.
