Two people are in hospital after what police are calling a targeted shooting in Surrey, B.C., Saturday morning.

In a written release, police said the incident happened in the area of 124 Street and 103 Avenue in Surrey, about 30 kilometres southeast of Vancouver.

Surrey RCMP Insp. Randall Marquardt said an unidentified man shot at two people in a car. The shooter then fled the scene in a silver car.

Marquadt said the wounded men flagged down an ambulance as they drove toward a hospital.

He said both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One person was shot in the leg and the other in the arm.

Marquardt said he could not confirm whether the victims returned fire.

The identities of the injured people have not been released, but one of them is known to police.
