Woman dies after hit and run in Burnaby

A 73-year-old woman has died in hospital after being seriously injured in a hit and run in Burnaby, B.C.
Police say Virginia Itubay died in hospital at about 8 p.m. PT Saturday.
She was hit on Jan. 21 at about 3:30 p.m. PT while crossing the intersection of Willingdon Avenue and Kitchener Street.
The driver fled the scene.
One witness reported seeing a black BMW leaving the area shortly after the accident. Police said the vehicle would likely have damage to the front bumper.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them.
