West Vancouver police are on the hunt for four men who allegedly assaulted a cab driver early Sunday morning.
The attack happened on Marine Drive near Taylor Way shortly after 2:00 a.m. PT after an argument between the driver and the men concerning the cab fare.
The men allegedly dragged the driver into nearby bushes then kicked and stomped his head and body, according to a police news release Wednesday.
The men also allegedly robbed the driver, who was treated in hospital for his injuries and released.
Const. Jeff Palmer said two of the alleged attackers were caught on taxi video prior to the assault.
Police are now asking the public to help identify the man sitting in the front seat of the cab and another man in the back seat whose face is partly visible.
"Signs are posted clearly in taxi cabs that when you're riding in one you're being video recorded," said Palmer. "It would seem in this case it wasn't a deterrent but it certainly is an effective investigative tool."
Anyone with information is asked to call West Vancouver Police at 604-925-7300.
