Vancouver and the B.C. government have reached a cash deal to cover extra costs associated with staging the upcoming Olympics.
The province confirms it will pay the city $6.2 million for services above normal levels during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in February and March.
Vancouver gets $3 million right away, with the rest of the money due by the end of April.
The payment covers everything from snow removal to fire services, traffic control and picking up litter.
