Pierre Parkinson, 41, has been missing for more than a week. (Submitted by Sean Gocher)An extensive search for a Vancouver businessman missing for a week resumed Sunday with little success.
Pierre Parkinson, 41, was last seen leaving his home in East Vancouver about 5 p.m. PT last Sunday.
A search party made up of about 40 volunteers, mostly family and friends, scoured parks and neighbourhoods throughout Vancouver on Sunday, saying they want to ensure no stone is left unturned.
His wife, Paula Parkinson, made an emotional statement to her husband, speaking Sunday afternoon at Spanish Banks in Vancouver.
"You've been my life partner for over half my life and I intend to spend the rest of my life with you," she said.
"Pierre, if you're listening, I want you to know that the boys and I will never give up hope. And we'll keep searching until we find you and you're safe by our side."
Family friend Sean Gocher said the ordeal has been very hard on Parkinson's wife, who has two small children at home, including an infant son.
"Just dealing with the challenges of [nursing] and an existing two-year-old, that's hard in itself," he said.
"With this on top of that, you can imagine if this was your own family, how complicated and stressful this would be. Everyone's trying to keep chin up and be hopeful that we can get him back."
Parkinson's car was found at Prospect Point in Stanley Park on Tuesday.
Family and friends say Parkinson's disappearance is completely out of character.
Parkinson is described as Caucasian, five-feet-11-inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with short salt-and-pepper hair.
Gocher asked anyone who sees Parkinson to stay with him and call 911.
