The RCMP won't pursue criminal charges related to the Ryan Jenkins investigation in Canada, the force's Federal Border Integrity Program announced Friday morning.

Since the warrant for Jenkins's arrest wasn't issued in Canada until Aug. 21, there are no grounds to support criminal charges against anyone who came into contact with him before that time, including the woman who dropped him off at a motel in Hope, B.C., on Aug. 20, the RCMP said in a statement.

Jenkins, a Calgary businessman who competed in a reality TV show in California, was found hanged in his motel room in Hope on Aug. 23. He had been charged in the death of his wife, model Jasmine Fiore, in California earlier in the week and was the focus of an international manhunt.

Jenkins evidently crossed the border into Canada alone sometime between Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20, the RCMP said in the statement.

Initially, there was speculation that a woman who arrived at the motel driving a silver PT Cruiser with Alberta licence plates was Jenkins's ex-fiancée, Paulina Chmielecka, after motel staff identified her from photographs.

On Tuesday, however, a source said police believe the mystery woman who checked Jenkins into the motel was his younger half-sister, Alena Jenkins, 19.
