Four B.C members of the Hells Angels have been convicted on a wide range of charges, but not for being part of a criminal organization, after a trial that began last September in Vancouver.

Although the trial lasted 10 months, the jury returned the mixed verdict Monday after deliberating for just a weekend.

The four accused — Ronaldo Lising, Randy Potts, John Punko, and Jean Violette — were found guilty of various charges connected to assault, extortion, threatening and weapons offences.

The jurors did not convict the men, however, on a charges of committing crimes for the benefit of a criminal organization, a key argument in the Crown's case.

During the trial, the men's lawyers argued their membership in the Hell's Angels East Vancouver chapter did not mean they were members of a criminal organization.
