Vancouver police investigate a shooting Thursday morning on Anzio Avenue. (CBC)A 28-year-old Vancouver man is recovering in hospital after being shot Thursday morning while he was sleeping in his home in the 3300 block of Anzio Drive, Vancouver police say.
Someone fired shots into the home, near Rupert Street and East 22nd Avenue, around 2 a.m. PT, striking the man, Vancouver police Const. Jana McGuinness said Thursday in a statement.
It appeared the shooting was an attack targeting the victim, but it was too early to say whether it was gang-related, McGuinness said.
Officers spent the morning canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses, but no arrests have been made. Police did not release the victim's name or details of his condition.
The shooting was the seventh in 48 hours in Metro Vancouver.
