A man was found dead Wednesday night in the basement suite of a house in East Vancouver, police said.
Officers were called to the scene in the 3100 block of Nanaimo Street after a shooting was reported at about 6:00 p.m. PT.
When police entered the home, they found a man's body with gunshot wounds.
Police said the shooting appeared to be a deliberate hit on the victim.
No name was released, and investigators continued to gather evidence Wednesday night.
Wednesday night's shooting was the latest fatal gun violence in Metro Vancouver.
Four people have been shot dead since Monday, and police have no suspects in any of the shootings.
The province has promised to put out more police in the streets and more prosecutors in courts to combat the surge of gun violence.
