5 B.C. MPs included in federal cabinet

(Adrian Wylde/Canadian Press)Five MPs from British Columbia have been included in Prime Minister Stephen Harper's new cabinet, which was sworn in on Thursday morning in Ottawa.
B.C.'s top cabinet minister, Stockwell Day, was shuffled to International Trade from Public Safety.
James Moore, the MP for Port Moody-Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam, got a big promotion, taking over the Heritage and Official Languages portfolio, while retaining his position as secretary of state for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Gary Lunn from the riding of Saanich-Gulf Islands was moved from his position of minister of natural resources to the minister of state for sport.
Jay Hill, from the riding of Prince George Peace River, was made the leader of the government in the House.
And, finally, veteran MP Chuck Strahl from Chilliwack is staying put as the minister of Indian affairs.
The shuffle follows the Oct. 14 election in which the Conservatives won 143 of the 308 House of Commons seats.
Harper expanded his cabinet to 38 members from 31. There will now be 11 women in cabinet, up from seven previously.
