No byelections before federal election: premier

B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell says he won't call byelections in two B.C. ridings until after the Oct. 14 federal election.
There are two Vancouver-area seats to be filled in the B.C. legislature.
New Democrat Gregor Robertson left to run for the mayor of Vancouver, and Liberal Lorne Mayencourt is running in the federal election as the Conservative candidate in Vancouver-Centre.
B.C. voters will go to the polls provincially in a fixed-date election in May 2009.
Campbell also said Liberal House Leader Mike de Jong will make a statement next week about whether or not the government will recall the B.C. legislature for a fall sitting.
