Vancouver film producer Bill Vince dies at 44

Oscar-nominated film producer William (Bill) Vince of Vancouver has died of cancer at the age of 44.
Vince produced the movie Capote, about Truman Capote writing the book In Cold Blood, which was nominated for a best picture Academy Award in 2006.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, who played Capote, won a best actor Oscar for the role and thanked Vince for his work on the film in his acceptance speech.
Vince recently produced the fantasy adventure The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the last film starring Heath Ledger, who died in January.
Vince started producing films in the 1990s with his brother Robert, working on films such as Samurai Cowboy, Final Round and Underworld.
They worked on both of Disney's Air Bud movies, then Bill Vince started Vancouver-based production house Infinity Features with partner Rob Merilees.
He also produced the 2002 action film Dead Heat starring Kiefer Sutherland and the high-school satire Saved! in 2004.
Vince was currently working on the sci-fi thriller Push, filmed in Hong Kong by director Paul McGuigan, and the B.C.-made stop-motion animation fantasy Edison and Leo.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
