RCMP are investigating a homicide after a unidentified woman's body was found in an alley in Surrey, B.C., early Wednesday morning.
"We don't know who she was and we don't quite know the manner of death although we feel it's suspicious so it's been treated as a homicide," RCMP spokesman Cpl. Dale Carr told CBC News.
Investigators canvassed the immediate area where the body was found, including a massage parlour close to the alley and a couple of neighbouring nightclubs, Carr said.
Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says officers scoured the area where the body was found the entire day Wednesday.

The B.C. Ambulance Service notified the Surrey RCMP around midnight Tuesday that a woman was found without a pulse in the northern part of the suburban city, said Carr.
Police later found the body in the alley off the 13600 block of 108 Avenue and investigators deemed the death suspicious.
Investigators hope to identify the Caucasian woman and notify next of kin in hopes of establishing a timeline of the woman's activity, Carr said.
An autopsy has been performed and police are hopeful that preliminary results will be able to identify the manner and method of death, he said.
Carr is asking anyone with information to contact the police.
