A former sex-trade worker testified Thursday that she's afraid to speak about the Robert William Pickton case and that someone else, along with Pickton, was involved in the killings.

Giselle Ireson told the court that she initially told police in 2004 she had nothing to say in connection with the case.

"I was scared. I still am scared, about my personal opinion," she said. 

"It's just my personal opinion. I don't think he did it alone."

Ireson, 36, was brought to court from jail, where she is in custody on one outstanding charge that wasn't disclosed. As she entered, she glowered several times at Pickton in the prisoner's box.

Ireson told the court about approaching a man in a vehicle in the winter of 1998. She said she got in the blue Chevrolet, and they discussed going on a date. 

Ireson said the vehicle was messy with lots of wrappers and that she saw some rope and a stiletto shoe in the back.

Ireson said he did not want to have the date at her hotel or in the car, but that instead he wanted them to go to his farm and that he told her his name was Willie Pickton.

Ireson said she told him she couldn't go that day but that she would meet him in the same spot the following Thursday. Pickton allegedly told her that he "liked to party and have a good time." 

That same day, he bought her cigarettes and some pop and gave her money when she asked for a loan, Ireson said.

Ireson testified she missed their scheduled meeting and then saw him two weeks later while she was "dope sick" — withdrawing from heroin.

She said she needed money and Pickton gave her cash, with which she bought drugs that turned out to be fake. 

Ireson said she went back to the spot she saw him and that he was still there. She told him what happened and he gave her more money and another invitation to the farm. 

But, again, she said no.

Went back to farm: witness

Another witness, Monique Wood said she went with Pickton to his farm to do some laundry, but instead fell asleep watching a movie with him.

Wood said Dinah Taylor introduced her to Pickton, who was parked near the CN Rail station in Vancouver. The jury has already heard that Taylor, a sex-trade worker and friend of Pickton's, was arrested in connection to the murders but never charged.

Wood testified she was living in a car on the Downtown Eastside and grabbed a bag of dirty laundry from the car. She said she put it in the back of the truck and then Pickton gave Wood some money that she and Taylor used to buy heroin.

Wood then said Taylor took off and she went back for her clothes. She told Pickton Taylor was gone and he told her she could still come back to the farm and do her laundry.  

Wood testified she told him she wouldn't have sex with him. She said he was OK with that and they went to the farm.

They got to his trailer and she went to the bathroom to inject some heroin, Wood testified. When she came out, Pickton was lying on a bed and invited her to put on a movie, she said.

She did and lay down next to him only to fall asleep and wake up the next morning.

She told the court Pickton invited her to go buy piglets, but she told him she needed to get back to Vancouver. According to Wood, he then dropped her off at the Coquitlam Centre bus loop and gave her some money and his phone number so she could come back that night and wash her clothes.

Wood said she never went back for her clothes and then the media broke the story of the search on the farm.

Pickton has been charged in the deaths of Sereena Abotsway, Mona Wilson, Andrea Joesbury, Brenda Wolfe, Marnie Frey and Georgina Papin, all women who went missing from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside between 1997 and 2001.

Pickton is accused in the deaths of 26 women in total. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Another trial on the 20 other charges will be held later.
