A 29-year-old Vancouver man is facing charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping in the death of a woman who disappeared from outside a popular Richmond casino earlier this year.
Rong Lilly Li, 41, was last seen in May getting into a van at the River Rock Casino.
RCMP discovered her body nearly three weeks ago at an undisclosed location.
"I'm not in a position to comment on where we located her body, but what I can confirm is that one individual has been charged in regards to her homicide," Richmond RCMP Cpl. Peter Thiessen said Wednesday.
Chu Ming Feng is charged with with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
Thiessen would not confirm or deny reports that Li may have been involved in loan sharking.
"Certainly that's something the media has been reporting, but that's not something we're in a position to confirm as to what her line of work may or may not have been," said Thiessen. "At this point, it's something we're not making public."
Police are still looking for Guo Wei Liang, 27. They describe him as a "person of interest," but would not elaborate.
