Six charges have been laid against a 31-year-old Burnaby man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident outside a downtown nightclub in Vancouver last November.

A Porsche Cayenne SUV hit three men as they crossed the street in the 1000 block of West Hasting Street early on Remembrance Day. The vehicle did not stop.
 
Two of the men who were hit — John Paul Larkin, 31, and Stanley Wong, 35 — were thrown half a block by the impact.

Wong died on the scene and Larkin died in hospital 10 days later. The third man suffered only minor injuries.

Police later found the luxury SUV abandoned at Bute and Cordova, just a few blocks from the scene of the accident.

Criminal negligence alleged

Vancouver police say Paul George Antunes was arrested in Vancouver on Thursday, within hours of a warrant being issued.

He faces two charges of criminal negligence causing death, one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and three counts of criminal hit and run.

Deputy chief Doug Lepard says the arrest was made when a couple of patrol officers pulled a car over in the downtown area after noticing something unusual.

Antunes has already appeared in court on the charges and will be back before the judge next Tuesday for a bail hearing.

According to court documents, he also faces seven unrelated criminal charges involving alleged threats and assaults on two women.
