Spirit, the dog, stabbed with knife by Surrey trespasser
Belgian shepherd attacked by man walking through nursery after hours
Spirit, a Belgian Shepherd, is recovering after it was stabbed several times with a pocket knife by a man who was trespassing on the grounds of a Surrey nursery Monday night.
The trespasser was in the yard of S-Farm Nursery on 127th Street and 58th Avenue when he encountered the three-year-old dog named Spirit.
After the incident Surrey RCMP dropped the dog at the Surrey Animal Hospital, where staff determined it was stabbed four or five times in the neck.
Manager Ricky Bajwa says tests show the wounds were limited to soft tissue damage, and Spirit is recovering with a cone on his head.
The suspect is described as a male in his mid-20s, medium height and build, dark-hair and was wearing a checkered blue shirt and jeans with a tear in the knee.
It's not known if the dog caused the tear in the jeans.
