Mechanical problems slowed service on Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain this morning, but the mechanical issue was fixed by 7 a.m. PT.

"SkyTrain is back in full service end-to-end. It will likely take a while to get all trains operating on schedule and to clear any backlog of passengers," said spokesman Drew Snider.

The trains were running single-track, alternating directions, between the 22nd St. Station and Metrotown Station early Wednesday morning, slowing the commute for early morning riders from Surrey and New Westminster.

TransLink also warns riders that Transit Police will be concentrating their fare-checking efforts at the Surrey Central Station on Wednesday.
