Shaw customers say they're frustrated by the lack of communication on the cable outage. (CBC)

Hundreds of frustrated Shaw customers in Langley and Aldergrove, B.C., are still waiting to have their cable service restored.

The outages started on Saturday night and according to Shaw, a fibre line was cut by vandals. Crews have been working to restore service, but many subscribers are still without cable.

"When I called [Shaw] yesterday [Sunday] for the first time in mid-afternoon, I was told there was a four-hour wait to talk to customer service," said area resident Candace Hopkins.

She understands the priority is restoring service, but also wants regular updates delivered by phone or through the media.

"We've been frustrated in our household with not getting information about the lack of internet service since about 1 a.m. PT Saturday into Sunday morning," she said.

Shaw customer service features a recorded message, which says nothing about how large the problem is or when it will be fixed, saying only that some service has been restored and crews are working on the rest.

Calls to Shaw from CBC News have not been returned.
