Vancouver police say they are having trouble identifying the woman killed by a transit bus in the Downtown Eastside over the weekend.

The accident happened Sunday evening on Hastings Street, just west of Main Street.

Police say it appears the woman fell under the bus as it pulled away from a stop.

The driver and passengers were not aware of what had happened until someone informed them a short time later.

Police say the woman wasn't carrying identification and they may have to wait until she is reported missing or they receive the autopsy results before she can be identified.
