B.C.'s Independent Investigations Office has been called after police shot a man at the Scott Road SkyTrain Station in Surrey Saturday evening.

Police say they responded to reports of a man threatening passengers with a knife around 7:30 p.m. PT.

Officers tried to restrain the man using a stun gun, police said, but when that didn’t work, an officer shot him.

They will focus on whether or not the police officer involved in this shooting committed an offence.
