Pipe bombs destroyed in Prince George
The RCMP in Prince George, B.C., have seized and destroyed four pipe bombs that were found in a car during a routine traffic stop on Sunday night.
During the traffic stop police arrested the car's occupants for suspected involvement in a break and enter earlier that evening, and as they searched the car, they discovered the explosive devices.
That led police to shut down Ospika Boulevard between Pinewood Avenue and Massey Drive near Westwood Elementary overnight as they waited for the Vancouver bomb squad to arrive
After the bomb squad arrived on Monday morning, it was able to detonate the explosives at a local gravel pit.
The RCMP has not said why the explosives may have been in the car.
