Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in crash
A 21-year-old man was killed and three others were injured early Saturday morning after the driver of a pickup truck lost control and the vehicle rolled into a ditch in Prince George.
Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
Police say the accident occurred at about 12.45 a.m. on Highway 97 near Austin Road. A pickup truck with five occupants was travelling south on Highway 97 when the driver lost control and rolled into a ditch, police said.
Only the driver, aged 22, was wearing a seatbelt and he was not injured, said RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass in a statement.
The four passengers were all thrown from the truck. The 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A 20-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, the statement said.
The other two passengers, both 19-year-old women, suffered minor injuries, said police.
