Vancouver police are looking for a newer-model black or dark-coloured Honda Civic that is believed to have been involved in a hit and run near Rogers Arena early Monday morning that left 26-year-old Ovey Yeung in hospital in critical condition.

Police say Yeung suffered severe head injuries after being struck by a vehicle heading east on Pacific Boulevard.

The woman's friends have taken to Twitter and Facebook, to offer their support to the business and communications consultant currently employed at bitlit.com.

"Sending love to you Ovey! You're a strong woman so I'm sure you'll heal in no time," said one. "Keeping you in our prayers, Ovey!" said another.

Police say the Honda Civic they are looking for could have visible front end damage.
