Oak Bay police crack 10-year-old cold case
Police in the Victoria suburb or Oak Bay have made an arrest in connection with a mysterious death nearly ten years ago that was long blamed on a accidental fall.
Owen Padmore, 31, died of internal head injuries in December of 2001 at Victoria General Hospital. At the time officials said they thought the death was the result of an accidental fall.
But on Tuesday Oak Bay police revealed someone came forward with new information two years ago. They re-opened their investigation and arrested three people last Thursday
Const. Laurence Riel says police anticipate Crown prosecutors will lay a charge of manslaughter against a 38-year-old man, who is scheduled to appear in court on June 23.
