"The force of the collision was pretty significant," said Sullivan.  "A lot of people noticed it when it occurred and called 911."

Sullivan says the motorcycle rider was taken to hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed to traffic for nearly an hour, but reopened around 6:30 p.m.
