The body of a 49-year-old who failed to return after a hike near Pemberton B.C. on Saturday afternoon has been found.
Michael Charles Low, from Vancouver, told friends he was planning to set out on Friday morning for a hike up to the Keith Flavelle hut near the Cerise Creek headwaters.
He was planning to spend the night at the hut, which is surrounded by forest and steep mountainous terrain, according to police.
Friends called police when Low failed to show up for dinner and couldn't be reached by phone.
Police said Low's GMC Safari van was found at the Cerise Creek trail head parking lot around 9:30 p.m. PT Saturday.
Pemberton Search and Rescue says Low's body was found in a crevasse at 2:30 p.m. PT Sunday.
The BC Coroner's Service is on the scene investigating.
Whistler RCMP says Low's body will be recovered October 26 when search crews have adequate light.
