Metro Vancouver snow changes to rain
Enviroment Canada snowfall warning ends for Metro Vancouver
An Environment Canada snowfall warning has ended for most of the Lower Mainland after light snow fell overnight and this morning.
The weather service says a moist low pressure system moving over a retreating Arctic air mass brought the snow.
Snow has now turned to rain in much of the Lower Mainland.
Rain began falling in downtown Vancouver around 9 a.m. PT.
However, Environment Canada says parts of the eastern Fraser Valley, Howe Sound and Whistler, where the Arctic front is more entrenched, will continue to experience snowfall until tonight.
Freezing rain possible for Fraser Valley
There is also a risk of freezing rain developing this afternoon over western sections of the Fraser Valley and tonight over eastern sections of the Fraser Valley.
