Man shot dead in Vancouver's 5th homicide of 2013

A 32-year-old man was killed in an apparent targeted shooting in East Vancouver just after midnight Thursday night.

A 32-year-old man was killed in an apparent targeted shooting in East Vancouver just after midnight Thursday night.

Vancouver Police say officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 7200 block of Victoria Drive at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

They found the man with gunshot wounds in the backyard of a home. He died shortly afterwards in hospital.

Const. Brian Montague says the victim is known to police, and the death has the earmarks of a targeted shooting.
