Man killed in Metro Vancouver shooting
Police say a 32-year-old man is dead after a shooting in the Metro Vancouver community of Surrey early Sunday morning.
Police say the shooting took place at a home in the 3700 block of 156 Street in the Morgan Creek neighbourhood at about 12:30 a.m. PT.
Cpl. Dale Carr of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the unidentified man was shot several times. Police have not identified any suspects, Carr said, nor have they determined a motive.
"This incident has all the earmarks of a targeted shooting," he said. "It wasn't a case of someone just driving around and just shooting randomly. However, we haven't made any links to drugs or organized crime."
Carr said investigators will conduct interviews throughout the neighbourhood to get more information.
Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Surrey is about 30 kilometres east of Vancouver.
